Resin Post Insulators
Epoxy post insulators are designed to be used when very heavy conditions occur. Some examples are:
- mechanical stresses due to poor precision when assembling or to strains produced by thermal variations
- very high vibrations
- joint action of industrial pollution, moisture, UV rays, overvoltages
The mechanical strength, as the creepage distances are higher (at the same air distance) than in ceramic insulators.
CTI index for evaluation of the resistance to tracking is higher than 600, means the maximum level considered by EN standards.
Epoxy bearing insulators can withstand 200 °C for a very long time and even higher temperatures for short periods.
